Since 2003, Pa Fru Henry and Anye Chifen started supporting the orphans and poor kids at the Akumalam village school. Their first supports focused on improving the learning conditions and to get as many orphans and children from poor families to school as possible. This has been the aim of our association, to support and motivate kids. We support the kids, the school and the village as a whole with;

These are the issues that we will always have to tackle, so as to make the school be a better place for the kids. There are hundreds of orphans and poor kids that need full or partial financial support to pay their school fees. Without this aid, they would never be able to go to school. The school is not able to hire enough teachers from the school fees they receive. This implies that they need financial support to hire more teachers. Also, the school materials are all very old and there were hardly any writing materials available for the teachers and pupils. About 7 kids were sitting on 1m bench in muddy classrooms.
Clearly, these are no conditions for kids to grow up or to learn. In order to tackle the problems mentioned above, we use your financial and material donations. We have been able to improve the situation a lot. Since 2003, we have helped over 750 pupils with their school fees, we have hired an extra teacher since the last three years and we have donated 25 benches and countless numbers of pencils, pens and writing books. We are very happy to show you the improved situation.
18 March 2007 was a special day for 6 year old Nche Raymond. Arriving at the school half an hour before time, she was asked by the headmistress “What’s so special about today, Raymond?” Barely able to contain his smile, he said: “Sir, I want to be the first to sit on our new desk”. “I’m happy you keep thinking about us, our furnitures were all broken, we thank God to have created this village Project” – The headmistress.
