Miyaka (thank you) Jürgen,

A new kind of donation for the Sewing Centre project, Thank you – Jürgen! Last December, he clocked 40 years and organized a small party for his friends in his local city. On the invitation cards, he recommended instead of gifts for his 40th anniversary – please make a donation for the Akumalam Sewing centre”, which is the present project on the Dorfschulprojekt agenda 2013.

During his birthday party, he presented to his guests the past and present activities of the Akumalam project. As a patron & coordinator for the sewing project in Akumalam, he stressed the importance of all projects for the local community in Akumalam, Cameroon. Despite the absence of the active members of Dorfschulprojekt during his party, the trust and enthusiasm was appreciated with a sum of 1190, -€.

Dorfschulprojekt would like to thank Jürgen and his guests for the gift. Patrons have been visiting their projects in Akumalam, likewise Jürgen will definitely visit the sewing centre before the building is completed in March 2014.

Uniforms give a sense of identity to a school. They also give a feeling of “belonging” to the pupils, and to a certain extent avoid obvious differences between rich and poor kids. Dorfschulprojekt e.V. would like to thank the donors for the continuos support. Over 43 uniforms were handed to the beneficiary pupils at the Akumalam, Alatakoh, and Alabukam schools. For only 12,-€  you can provide a child with a full school uniform, allowing them the chance to attend school! Make it a gift – donate a school uniform as a gift for someone on your list!

2013: we want to build a sewing centre for Akumalam community. Young girls and women should benefit by learning sewing and business skills at Akumalam Sewing Centre. This would ensure their future employment stability. ASC needs your help to give these young and adult women a life career path. Target:  Yearly, 25 young / adult  women should be able  acquire training at ASC to gain employment and future stability.

The Akumalam Project continues to acknowledge the generosity of all its donors, among which are friends, sports fellows, colleagues, which offer financial and moral support for the work we try to do. Your donations to this Project continues to make a huge difference in the life of the young kids unable to have basic education. 100% of your donation is used for desired projects. Administration and other costs are covered by the organizers of this project!

Dear friends of the Dorfschulprojekt e.V.,

A successful and exciting year is coming to an end and we would like to thank you for all your trust and support for all our projects.

We would like to highlight the achievements; we finally constructed and installed the library fort he community. A librarian is employed to run this  great project. With your support we continue to improve the infrastructure in Akumalam and regions around. We planned to install 500 books, but today we have over 2800 books for all sections, pupils, college and adults.

Our regular support for the school fees for over 102 pupils, salary of an additional english teacher, uniforms for the needy, sports equipments for the school, school materials were also carried out to promote education. All these activities provide a conducive atmosphere and motivate the kids to study. This is not possible without the support from all our friends, cause we do not have member fees, we continue to rely on you all to spread the message, we at Dorfschulprojekt are committed to execute.

We strive to build a network of friends that understand our idea: support and motivate.

Lastly, during a business trip to India, we have been help to provide food at a slum area in Faridabad – Delhi. Words cannot describe the situation at certain areas in our planet. See the pictures on our web page. Thank you all.

2013: we want to build a sewing centre for Akumalam. Young women and adults should benefit by learning sewing and business skills at Akumalam Sewing Centre. This would ensure their future employment stability. ASC needs your help to give these young and adult women a life career path.

Target:  Yearly, 25 young / adult  women should be able  acquire training at ASC to gain employment and future stability.

What is the challenge? This project should train young & adult women in Akumalam and other villages with sewing skills so they can earn themselves a living. They should sew school uniforms for other schools and the basic clothing needs for the community at a cheaper rate than the city prices. The profits will be invested into the community or the nearby schools.  Thus, we need manual sewing machine.

Can Dorfschulprojekt succeed? Yes, we can. See our other projects, the water, library, hospital, the school…. Inga V., Jürgen P., Kai A. and I will coordinate this project.

We are looking forward to a successful project year 2013, empowering girls, sharing hope and motivating kids in the coming New Year. You can always share this experience to join us for a trip to Akumalam and the other villages.

For you and your family, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2013.

Sincerely yours,

Anye (for the project members)

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation of books to our village library! At Akumalam, we strive to foster a love of reading and having books for all pupils’ and community inhabitants. We appreciate this gesture.

We still need more science books. Thank you so much.
